Department of Applied Chemistry, School of Natural and Applied Science Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, 710129, China Surface modification of the acidified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) was conducted by hyperbranched polyamine-ester (HBP). The sample was characterized with the Raman spectra, X-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy. Nanocomposites with MWNTs/epoxy matrix were prepared by compounding the modified MWNTs and epoxy resin. As a result, the MWNTs-capped organic molecules formed core/shell structure. The grafted organic molecules solve the dispersion of the MWNTs in the epoxy resin-based nanocomposites and then enhancing the antifriction and dielectric property of such nanocomposites.
Key Words: carbon nanotubes hyperbranched polyamine-ester surface modification nanocomposites.
